The Hellenic Air Force Virtual (HAFv) Military Air Traffic Controllers Academy is dedicated to training and developing skilled controllers capable of managing complex military air traffic operations within the IVAO network. Our academy offers a structured and immersive learning experience, designed to prepare controllers for handling tactical and strategic air missions with precision and professionalism.

Academy Mission

Our goal is to provide high-quality training for virtual Military ATC personnel, ensuring they are well-equipped to manage military operations in Greek airspace and beyond. 

We focus on:
Fundamentals of Military ATC – Airspace structure, military phraseology, and operational coordination.
Tactical & Strategic Control – Managing air defense exercises, interceptions, aerial refueling, and formation flights.
Special Operations Handling – Supporting combat air patrols, strategic deployments, and search & rescue missions.
Integration with Civilian ATC – Coordinating mixed-traffic environments while maintaining military operational security.
Live Training & Certification – Practical exercises, scenario-based training, and progressive certification.

Training Program

Our academy follows a step-by-step approach to ensure controllers gain progressive experience in managing military air traffic:
Basic Military ATC Course – Covers essential ATC procedures, airspace structures, and communication protocols.
Advanced Tactical Control Course – Focuses on mission coordination, special operations, and air battle management.
Live Operations Training – Hands-on experience through real-time IVAO events and military exercises.
Certification & Deployment – Controllers earn HAFv Military ATC ratings and IVAO FRAs, qualifying them to operate in high-intensity environments.
